Guidelines/Guiding policy/Guiding principles

The mid-level ”How”.

A guideline is ”information intended to advise people on how something should be done or what something should be”. (Cambridge Dictionary)

Idea: Think of it as a helpful rule book or the ”commandments” for the unit/the product, stating ”When X happens, we do Y”.

The intranet should state some rules e.g. about how to integrate data into the intranet. Example: ”Use the RISC protocol when providing data through the API”. Another guiding principle could be: ”When building new things, we always put the end-users’ needs first”.
